Munich at its best
Success stories, background information and trends
from the regional, national and international
worlds of beverages were presented under the
motto
Power brands made by power men.
Not only the leading executives from marketing
and sales of the "big players" came to Munich,
but also medium-sized breweries and brewpubs.
Colleagues from the wine, champagne and spirits
branches were also present.
The Deutsche Brauer-Bund as host and the
BierConvent International e.V. as patron, as well
as our sponsors, expected more than 400
participants from all five continents to visit
this first marketing-oriented Forum on an
international scale to take place on European
soil.
The speakers themselves already represented more
than 25% of the worlds' beer production (more
than 300,000,000 hl) and are unattested leaders
of their respective markets.
drinktec and Oktoberfest
The drinktec-interbrau has traditionally taken
place in Germany for more than 100 years now,
with its customary location in the beer
metropolitan Munich. It is the largest beverage
trade fair in the world with more than 1,000
exhibitors and 75,000 visitors. Together with
the world-famous Oktoberfest (Wies'n) this was
the ideal background for the WORLD BEER & BEVERAGE
FORUM.
Apart from the 27 practice-oriented presentations
and panels, as well as the 18 sponsor's workshops,
participants had the opportunity during the
three-day programme, of meeting and "getting to
know" each other, exchanging ideas and
establishing private and business contacts. In
spite of the increasingly hard competition
situation throughout the world, even local
beverage specialists have a chance of becoming
successful outside their own borders - with the
right sales partners.
This opportunity was made use of in the best possible way. On two evenings,
in a "gemütlicher" atmosphere, chosen products
were available from those companies who, through
their speakers, helped to create this event.
German/English as conference languages
The presentations were translated simultaneously or
"word for word". Participants could choose between the
27 different topics. The more than 60 speakers were
not pushed for time and gave listeners an opportunity
to take part in detailed discussions.
